Starr Hill Brewery was born in Charlottesville in 1999, and in 2020 it came back to its roots with a taproom inside the Dairy Market on Grady Avenue. One of the most decorated craft breweries on the East Coast, Starr Hill has racked up over twenty Great American Beer Festival, World Beer Cup, and Great British Beer Festival medals across a range that spans IPAs, pilsners, lagers, sours, wheat beers, and stouts.

The Dairy Market taproom gives guests access to Starr Hill's full draft menu, a food menu, and a brunch menu on weekends, plus the option to bring in food from the Dairy Market's other vendors. Starr Hill has also expanded their presence within the building, operating the bar in the Dairy Market common space so guests can enjoy a pour anywhere in the vendor area. It's a great anchor stop on the Charlottesville Ale Trail and an easy excuse to make an afternoon of it.
